Our History and Mission

The Gregorian Society was founded in 1989 to preserve and foster the Traditional Latin Mass within the Catholic Archdiocese of Baltimore. The Society is loyal to the Magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church and functions with the approval of the Baltimore Archdiocese.

Our founding goal was to build a community centered around the Traditional Latin Mass. This community formulated at St. Alphonsus in Baltimore, MD (now the National Shrine of Saint Alphonsus). Since the arrival of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter (FSSP) the community and Gregorian Society continues its commitment to supporting the Traditional Latin Mass and the FSSP priests who serve our community.  We also more broadly support initiatives in further support of Latin Mass communities, both at the parish and priestly levels of development.

Your donations and purchases from our store at Pray in Latin – Praying Latin | Prayer in the Sacred Latin Language enables us to, in turn, provide support to Latin Mass communities who need support.
